Gala Slush Punch - cooking recipe

4 medium grapefruit, peeled and cut into pieces
1 (67.6 oz.) bottle lemon-lime carbonated beverage
1/4 c. sugar
1 pt. lime sherbet
1 pt. pineapple sherbet
Preparation

In a blender or food processor, place half of the cut up grapefruit. Cover and process until nearly smooth; strain into a large bowl. Repeat with remaining grapefruit. Add half of the carbonated beverage (about 4 cups) to the grapefruit juice. Stir in the sugar until dissolved. Pour into a 9 x 9 x 2-inch pan. Cover and freeze 4 to 5 hours or until nearly firm, stirring 3 times during the freezing time.
