Mock Apple Pie - cooking recipe
Ingredients

pastry for 2 (9-inch) pies
36 Ritz crackers
2 c. water
2 c. sugar
2 tsp. cream of tartar
2 Tbsp. lemon juice and grated rind of the lemon
oleo
cinnamon
Preparation

Break crackers coarsely into one pie shell.
Combine water, sugar and cream of tartar in saucepan; boil 15 minutes.
Add lemon juice and rind.
Cool.
Pour syrup over crackers, dot with oleo and sprinkle with cinnamon.
Add top crust.
Bake at 425\u00b0 for 30 to 35 minutes.
Serve warm.
