French Fruit Au Gratin - cooking recipe

1 c. whole raspberries
1 c. halved strawberries
1 c. large chunks apple
1 c. peaches
1 c. pears
1 c. apricots
1/3 c. cognac
6 egg yolks
1/3 c. sugar
1 c. (1/2 pt.) heavy cream
1 Tbsp. vanilla
Preparation

Mix fruits and cognac and let marinate for 2 hours at room temperature.
Pour mixture into 2-quart shallow baking dish.
In saucepan, mix egg yolks, sugar and cream and stir over low heat until thickened.
Do not boil.
Stir in vanilla.
Pour mixture evenly over undrained marinated fruit.
Place under preheated broiler and broil 8 to 10 minutes or until fluffy and golden brown. Serve warm.
Makes 6 to 8 servings.
