Applesauce(Makes 3 Cups) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 large firm green apples, peeled, cored and cut into 1/8-inch slices
    1/2 c. water
    sugar to taste
    3 Tbsp. lemon juice
Preparation
    Put apples and water into saucepan. Turn heat to medium and cook, stirring often, until the apples become tender, about 5 to 6 minutes.
    Add sugar and lemon juice. Stir to blend.
    Cook another 1 to 2 minutes.
    Remove from heat and mash with fork.
