Ingredients

2 Tbsp. shortening
1 c. dates, diced
1 c. white sugar
2 eggs, beaten
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. chopped walnuts or pecans
2 c. Rice Krispies
coconut
Preparation

Cook first 4 ingredients in a heavy skillet, stirring constantly for 3 minutes on medium heat.
Add vanilla, Rice Krispies and nuts.
Cool and form into small balls.
Roll in coconut.
