Ingredients

1 c. sifted all-purpose flour
3/4 c. sugar
2 Tbsp. cocoa
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. milk
1 Tbsp. oil
1 3/4 c. hot water
1 tsp. vanilla
3/4 c. chopped walnuts
3/4 c. brown sugar
1/4 c. cocoa
vanilla ice cream or whipped cream
Preparation

Sift together flour, sugar, cocoa, powder and salt.
Add milk, salad oil, water and vanilla.
Mix until smooth.
Stir in nuts. Pour into greased 8 x 8 x 2-inch pan.
Mix together brown sugar and cocoa; sprinkle over batter.
Bake at 350\u00b0 about 45 minutes. Serve with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
Yields 6 to 8 servings.
