Beer Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients

2 c. brown sugar
1 c. shortening
1 c. chopped nuts
1 tsp. cinnamon
2 tsp. baking powder
2 c. chopped dates
1/2 tsp. ground cloves
3 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
2 eggs
1/2 tsp. allspice
2 c. beer

Preparation

Sift flour, baking powder and salt; add beer and mix well. Cream sugar and shortening; add eggs, nuts, dates and spices. Combine beer and flour mixture and mix well.
Pour in well-greased and floured tube pan.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 45 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean.
