Oatmeal Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 1/2 c. boiling water
1 c. oatmeal
1/2 c. shortening
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. granulated sugar
2 eggs, beaten
1 1/2 c. sifted all-purpose flour
1 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
Preparation

Stir boiling
water
and oatmeal together and let stand 20 minutes.
Cream
shortening
with the sugars.
Add eggs and beat in.
Sift dry ingredients together and add to the creamed mixture. Add
oatmeal
and
beat well.
Bake in a greased and floured 9-inch square pan at 325\u00b0 for 35 to 40 minutes.
Frost with Coconut Topping.
