Apple Nobby Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1 c. sugar
1/4 c. margarine, softened
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. each: baking soda, baking powder, salt, cinnamon and nutmeg
3 c. diced apples
1/4 c. chopped nuts

Preparation

Cream together the margarine and sugar.
Add egg and vanilla; mix until smooth.
Sift together the flour and all dry ingredients.
Add to creamed mixture.
Stir in apples and nuts; mix well.
Pour batter into greased 8-inch square pan (8 x 8-inch).
Bake at 350\u00b0 for about 45 minutes or until a toothpick thrust into center of cake comes out clean.
Serve with Cool Whip or whipped cream.
