Easy Beef Stew - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 lb. lean beef stew meat (1-inch pieces)
    2 Tbsp. flour
    2 Tbsp. margarine
    1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
    2 tsp. salt (optional)
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    1/8 tsp. thyme
    1/2 bay leaf
    2 c. water
    6 onions, cut into chunks (1-inch pieces)
    6 carrots, cut into chunks (1-inch pieces)
    6 potatoes, cut into chunks (1-inch pieces)
Preparation
    Roll meat in flour and brown in margarine.
    Add tomato sauce, salt, pepper, thyme, bay leaf, and water.
    Simmer 1 1/2 hours until meat is tender.
    Add onions, carrots and potatoes.
    May also add peas.
    Cook 20 minutes or until vegetables are tender.
