Sour Cream Apple Squares - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. all-purpose flour
    2 c. firmly packed brown sugar
    1/2 c. margarine, softened
    1 c. chopped nuts (pecans)
    2 tsp. cinnamon
    1 tsp. soda
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 c. sour cream
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 egg
    2 c. finely chopped apples, peeled (2 medium)
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
    Lightly spoon flour into measuring cup and level off.
    In large bowl combine first 3 ingredients.
    Blend at low speed until crumbly.
    Stir in nuts.
    Place 2 3/4 cups of crumb mixture into an ungreased, 13 x 9-inch pan.
    To the remaining mixture, add cinnamon, salt, soda, sour cream, vanilla and egg.
    Blend well.
    Stir in apples.
    Spoon evenly over crumb layer in pan.
    Bake 25 to 35 minutes until toothpick inserted comes out clean.
    Cut in squares.
    Serve with whipped cream, if desired.
    Yield:
    12 to 15 squares.
