Italian Macaroni And Cheese - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 lb. ground beef
    1 (16 oz.) can tomatoes
    1/3 c. tomato paste
    1 Tbsp. minced onion
    1 tsp. sugar
    1/2 tsp. garlic powder
    1/2 tsp. oregano
    dash of pepper
    1 2/3 c. macaroni
    1 c. cottage cheese
    1 c. Cheddar cheese, shredded
    2 Tbsp. grated Parmesan
Preparation
    Cook meat in frying pan until it loses red color; drain.
    Add tomatoes, tomato paste, onion and seasonings.
    Simmer slowly for 30 minutes; stir as needed.
    Preheat oven to 325\u00b0.
    Cook macaroni in boiling water following package directions.
    Drain.
    Combine macaroni and cottage cheese.
    Pour a little meat mixture in bottom of 2 1/2-quart casserole dish.
    Top with half of macaroni mixture; half the Cheddar cheese and half the meat mixture.
    Repeat layers. Sprinkle Parmesan on top and bake for 40 minutes or until well heated.
    Remove from oven and serve.
    Yields 6 servings.
