Ingredients

1 stick butter
1/2 c. Crisco
3 c. sugar
5 whole eggs
3 c. plain flour
3 tsp. cornstarch
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. coconut
Preparation

Sift
together\tthree times the flour, cornstarch, salt and baking powder.
Set aside.\tCream butter, Crisco and sugar well. Add
eggs
one
at\ta time, beating well.
Add milk and flour mixture
to
creamed
sugar
and Crisco, beginning with flour
and ending with flour.\tAdd vanilla and coconut.
Stir. Beat with electric
mixer
for
5 minutes.
Cook at 325\u00b0 in a 9-inch tube pan
for 1 hour and 15 minutes or until done when tested by inserting and removing a toothpick that doesn't have dough on it.
