Butter Pastry - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 1/4 c. sifted flour
3/4 tsp. salt
14 Tbsp. (1 3/4 sticks) butter, chilled and cut into pieces
1/3 c. ice water or as needed
Preparation

Sift flour and salt into a mixing bowl.
Cut butter into the flour with a pastry blender until the mixture resembles coarse meal.
Sprinkle on the ice water a little at a time, blending it quickly into the dough by gathering up the mixture, working it lightly with your fingers, then squeezing it together.
(Work fast as the mixture must stay cold.)
