Carrot-Apple Cake - cooking recipe

2 c. flour
1 c. sugar
2 tsp. baking soda
1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. salt
3/4 c. unsweetened applesauce
1/4 c. Crisco oil
3 eggs
3 c. coarsely grated carrots
Preparation

Grease a 9-inch tube pan. In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, soda, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt. Add applesauce and oil. Stir until blended. Add eggs and stir. When batter is smooth, add carrots and mix well. Pour batter into pan and bake 1 hour and 10 minutes or until a cake tester inserted in center of cake comes out clean.
