Vanilla Crescents - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. flour
    1 3/4 c. ground, blanched almonds (about 1/2 lb.)
    1 vanilla bean
    1/4 c. plus 1 Tbsp. sugar
    1 2/3 sticks cold, unsalted butter
    3/4 c. confectioners sugar (approximately)
Preparation
    Combine the flour, sugar and almonds in a food processor.
    Cut in the butter.
    Turn the mixture onto a pastry board and quickly knead into a smooth ball.
    Refrigerate for 1 hour.
