Lemon Torte - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 egg whites
    1 c. sugar
    1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
    4 egg yolks, beaten well
    1/2 c. sugar
    juice and grated rind of 1 lemon
    1/2 pt. heavy cream
Preparation
    Beat the first 3 ingredients together until stiff.
    On brown paper or parchment lined cookie sheet, shape meringue into shells, either with pastry bag or spoon. Bake at 275\u00b0 for 1 hour.
    Cool.
