Soft Cornbread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. yellow cornmeal
    2 tsp. baking powder
    2 c. boiling water
    2 eggs
    2 Tbsp. flour
    1 tsp. salt
    1 c. milk
    1 Tbsp. bacon drippings
Preparation
    Place first four ingredients in a bowl.
    Scald with boiling water, stirring vigorously.
    Add milk, eggs slightly beaten. Place bacon drippings in a medium size Pyrex bowl and heat in oven.
    Pour hot drippings into mixture and stir.
    Pour all into Pyrex bowl and bake 45 minutes to 1 hour in 425\u00b0 oven or until brown on top.
    Serve with spoon.
    Delicious served with butter. Excellent with beef hash and gravy.
    Serves 4.
