Poppy Seed Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. (about 2 1/2 oz.) poppy seed
    3/4 c. milk
    2 1/4 c. sifted cake flour
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    3/4 c. butter
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    4 egg whites
Preparation
    Soak poppy seeds in milk for 2 hours.
    Then sift together the flour, baking powder and salt.
    Cream butter with vanilla.
    Add sugar gradually, creaming until fluffy after each addition. Beating only until smooth after each addition, alternately add dry ingredients in fourths, poppy seed/milk in thirds to creamed mixture.
