Fritters - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 eggs, well beaten
    1/2 c. milk
    1 c. self-rising flour
    1 tsp. salad oil or melted shortening
Preparation
    Stir milk into well beaten eggs.
    Add flour and beat until smooth.
    Stir in fat and mix until well blended.
    Cut up fruit or vegetables (see following).
    Add to or dip in fritter batter.
    Drop into hot fat (375\u00b0) and fry until brown.
    Drain and serve hot with syrup or gravy.
    Yields 12 to 15 small fritters.
