*Whole Wheat Rolls - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. scalded milk
    2 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. soft shortening (Crisco)
    6 Tbsp. white sugar
    2 eggs, beaten
    2 pkg. dry yeast or 2 cakes yeast
    1/2 c. warm water
    3 c. whole wheat flour
    3 to 4 c. white flour
Preparation
    In a large bowl, pour in scalded milk.
    Add salt, shortening, 5 tablespoons sugar and beaten eggs.
    In a small bowl, combine 1 tablespoon sugar and yeast with the warm water.
    Let yeast mixture set for at least 10 minutes and then blend with the ingredients in a large bowl.
    Add 1 1/2 cups whole wheat and 1 1/2 cups white flour.
    Blend this mixture to a soft dough.
    Continue to gradually add the rest of the flours, remembering to keep the dough soft. Keeping the dough soft is the real secret to making light rolls.
