Apple Brownies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 stick oleo or butter
    1 egg, beaten
    1 c. chopped nuts
    1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. soda
    1 c. sugar
    1 c. chopped apples
    1 c. flour
    1/2 tsp. baking powder
Preparation
    Cream sugar and butter.
    Add beaten egg.
    Add sifted dry ingredients.
    Fold in apples and nuts.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 40 to 45 minutes in 8-inch square pan.
    May be doubled and put in 9 x 13-inch, but use only 1 1/2 cups of sugar when doubled.
