Caramel Frosting - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 sticks butter
    2 c. sugar
    1 c. milk
Preparation
    Let butter melt; add sugar and brown.
    Add milk and bring to a soft ball stage on candy thermometer.
    Remove from heat and beat with mixer until of spreading consistency.
    Spread on cake.
    Makes enough to frost 2 (9-inch) layers.
