Pierogi Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    9 lasagna noodles
    2 finely chopped onions
    3/4 lb. grated Cheddar cheese
    2 sticks butter
    12 servings instant potatoes
Preparation
    Cook noodles.
    Make instant potatoes.
    Add the cheese to potatoes after they are made.
    Saute onions in butter until soft. Add 1/3 cup of butter and onion mixture to potato mixture.
    Add salt and pepper to taste.
    Generously butter 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan with butter.
    Put first layer of noodles in pan with part of the potato mixture on top.
    The top layer should be noodles.
    Pour remaining butter and onions over all.
    Cover with foil and bake at 350\u00b0 for 45 minutes.
