Refrigerator Slaw - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    8 C. shredded cabbage
    1 lg. thinly sliced onion
    1 1/2 C. sugar
    1 C. vinegar
    3/4 C. salad oil
    1 tsp each; dry mustard and celery seed
    salt to taste
Preparation
    Alternate layers of cabbage, onion and sugar.
    Combine remaining ingredients and bring to a boil.
    Pour boiling liquid over cabbage mixture and stir to mix.
    Refrigerate.
    Should keep up to 4 weeks in refrigerator.
