Onion Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    5 large yellow onions
    10 slices bacon
    3/4 lb. natural Swiss cheese, grated
    3/4 stick butter or oleo
    1/4 lb. pkg. crackers, crumbled
    1 c. sour cream
    3 eggs
    paprika
    salt and pepper to taste
Preparation
    Slice onions; add salt and pepper and smother in butter until tender.
    Cover bottom of casserole with cracker crumbs.
    Cook bacon until crisp.
    When onions are very tender, place on top of crackers along with butter they were cooked in.
    Crumble bacon on top of onions.
    Top with grated cheese.
    Beat eggs well; add sour cream and blend well.
    Pour over the cheese.
    Sprinkle with paprika.
    Cover with foil and bake at 350\u00b0 until set, about 35 minutes.
