Rice Pudding - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 qt. half and half
    1 qt. water
    1 c. sugar
    1 c. long grain rice
    1/2 stick oleo
    1/2 tsp. salt
    2 eggs
    1/2 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. raisins or dried cherries
Preparation
    Combine half and half, water, sugar, rice, oleo and salt in large saucepan and bring to a boil.
    Simmer, stirring frequently, for 40 minutes or more.
    Add raisins.
    Remove from heat.
    Beat eggs with enough water to make 1 cup.
    Add to rice mixture, beating in quickly with a spoon.
    Add vanilla.
    Return to stove and bring to a boil.
    Refrigerate.
