Lentil Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. lentils
    5 c. water
    1 large onion, sliced
    1/2 green pepper
    1 clove garlic, crushed
    1 sliced carrot
    1 stalk celery
    1 crumbled bay leaf
    pinch of thyme
    1 turnip, diced
    pinch of parsley
    1 (10 1/2 oz.) can beef bouillon
Preparation
    Simmer lentils and water covered 1 hour.
    Saute onion, green pepper and garlic in margarine until tender.
    Add to cooked lentil stock remainder of ingredients.
    Simmer for 30 minutes.
    Serve with Italian bread.
