Southern Strawberry Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients

3/4 c. sugar
2 Tbsp. light corn syrup
3 Tbsp. strawberry jello
2 Tbsp. cornstarch
1 c. water
1 qt. fresh strawberries, washed and cut
9-inch pie shell, baked

Preparation

Combine sugar, cornstarch, corn syrup and water.
Cook, stirring constantly until clear and thick.
Add jello, stirring until dissolved; cool.
Place strawberries in baked pie shell; pour in gelatin mixture.
Chill until firm.
Yields one 9-inch pie.
Serve with Cool Whip, vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
