Kathleen'S Favorite Mashed Potatoes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    5 lb. red potatoes
    canned milk
    mayonnaise
    salt to taste
    pepper to taste
    1/2 stick butter
Preparation
    Peel and cube potatoes.
    Boil in lightly salted water just until tender.
    Do not overcook.
    Turn off stove.
    Drain potatoes and immediately return them to the hot pot.
    Set on hot stove eye that is turned off.
    Pour in amount of canned milk needed for beating.
    Do not disturb potatoes.
    Add 1 large spoonful of mayonnaise and the butter to the undisturbed potatoes.
    Let set until milk becomes lukewarm (this is important).
    When milk is warm, mash potatoes slightly; add salt and pepper to taste.
    Beat with an electric mixer until smooth.
