Texas Gumdrop Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients

2 c. sugar
4 c. all-purpose flour
2 c. raisins
2 c. cut up gumdrops (no black or spice)
2 tsp. soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 c. Wesson oil
2 c. applesauce
2 c. chopped pecans
1 tsp. allspice
1 tsp. nutmeg

Preparation

Mix sugar, oil, flour, applesauce and spices, then add raisins, nuts and gumdrops.
Mix well.
Bake 2 1/2 hours in a greased and floured tube pan at 275\u00b0.
Place a pan of water under cake and steam will make it moist.
Test for doneness.
