Sweet Potato Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 unbaked pie shell
    2 c. mashed sweet potatoes
    5 Tbsp. melted butter
    1/2 c. brown sugar, firmly packed
    4 eggs, separated
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    dash of mace
    1/3 c. chopped walnuts
    2 c. milk
Preparation
    Combine sweet potatoes, butter and brown sugar.
    Beat egg yolks; add salt, cinnamon and mace.
    Mix thoroughly.
    Add walnuts and milk.
    Beat egg whites until stiff; fold in and pour into pie shell.
    Bake at 425\u00b0 for 15 minutes.
    Reduce heat to 375\u00b0 and bake 25 minutes longer or until firm.
    Cool.
    Top with whipped cream if desired.
