Schnitzel Beans - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 (No. 2) cans or 1 qt. green beans, drained
    4 slices bacon
    1 c. sugar
    1/2 c. vinegar
    1 onion, chopped (purple)
Preparation
    Fry bacon until crisp; take out of skillet and drain.
    Add sugar and vinegar to bacon grease.
    Cook until sugar is dissolved. Add green beans and bacon, crumbled.
    Simmer 20 minutes.
    Add onion.
