Cocoa-Pink Cuplets - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. flour
    1 Tbsp. cocoa
    1 tsp. salt
    1 1/4 c. sugar
    3/4 c. shortening
    2 eggs
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 tsp. soda
    1 c. cold water
    1 c. semi-sweet chocolate bits
    1/2 c. chopped nuts
Preparation
    Sift flour, cocoa and salt together; set aside.
    Cream sugar and shortening together.
    Blend in eggs and vanilla.
    Add soda to cold water; stir well.
    Add alternately with dry ingredients to creamed mixture, beginning and ending with dry ingredients.
    Blend thoroughly after each addition.
