Waldorf Red Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. shortening
    2 eggs
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 tsp. salt
    2 1/4 c. cake flour
    1 tsp. vinegar
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    2 oz. red food color
    2 tsp. cocoa
    1 c. buttermilk
    1 tsp. soda
Preparation
    Cream shortening, sugar and eggs. Make paste of red food color and cocoa.
    Add to creamed mixture.
    Add buttermilk with salt; alternating with flour.
    Add vanilla.
    Lastly add soda and vinegar.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 30 minutes.
    Cool.
