Glorified Rice - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (13 1/2 oz.) can pineapple tidbits
    1 c. Minute rice
    3/4 tsp. salt
    6 maraschino cherries, diced
    1 c. miniature marshmallows
    2 c. whipped topping
Preparation
    Drain pineapple, reserving syrup.
    Add water to make 1 1/4 cups liquid.
    In a medium saucepan over high heat, bring to a boil.
    Stir in rice and salt.
    Reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes.
    Add pineapple and cherries.
    Chill thoroughly.
    Fold in marshmallows and whipped topping.
    Makes 8 servings.
