Round Steak Supreme - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 lb. round steak (1 inch thick)
    1/4 c. shortening
    2 large onions, sliced
    1/2 c. chili sauce
    1/2 c. California Ros wine
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    1/2 lb. fresh mushrooms, sliced
    1/2 c. chopped green pepper
    1/2 c. tomato juice
    1 1/2 tsp. salt
    1/8 tsp. garlic salt
    1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
Preparation
    Brown steak in 1 tablespoon shortening on both sides.
    Place in a shallow baking pan.
    Melt remaining 3 tablespoons shortening and add mushrooms, onions and green pepper.
    Cook 5 minutes or just until soft but not browned.
    Blend in chili sauce, tomato juice, wine, salt, pepper, garlic salt and Worcestershire sauce.
    Pour sauce over browned meat.
    Bake in hot oven, 425 degrees, for 10 minutes, then reduce heat to 350 degrees.
    Cover and continue cooking about 1 1/2 hours or until meat is tender.
    Makes 6 servings.
