Ingredients

1 c. sugar
1 stick margarine
1 c. chopped dates
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 c. Special K or Rice Krispies
1/2 c. chopped pecans
coconut
Preparation

Cook first 5 ingredients in a saucepan over medium heat.
Stir and mash dates while cooking. Remove from fire and add the cereal and pecans.
Put hands in Baggies to protect from heat and roll a spoonful of mixture into a ball, then in coconut.
Let set. Delicious!
Even people who don't normally like dates seem to like these.
