Grandma'S "Best" Chili Sauce - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    12 tomatoes
    2 large onions
    3 large green peppers
    1 clove garlic
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. whole cloves
    1 Tbsp. whole pickling spice
    1/2 c. sugar
    1 Tbsp. salt
    1 c. vinegar
Preparation
    Peel and chop tomatoes coarsely.
    Grind onions and peppers together.
    Mash garlic with salt.
    Tie spices in a cheesecloth bag. Combine all ingredients in a large kettle; heat to boiling.
    Reduce heat; simmer until mixture is thick.
    Ladle into hot jars; seal at once.
