California Chili Beans - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. dry pinto beans
    3 1/2 c. water
    1 medium onion, chopped
    1 green sweet pepper, chopped
    1 jalapeno pepper, chopped (optional)
    1 lb. ground beef
    1 can tomatoes, cut up
    2 Tbsp. chili powder
    salt to taste
Preparation
    Sort and rinse beans.
    Cook until tender.
    Cook ground beef in skillet.
    Drain off fat.
    Add cooked beef and remaining ingredients to beans; stir.
    Cook until flavors are mixed.
    Can be frozen.
    Very good.
