Aunt Jan'S Southern Style Ham - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 ham
    2 tsp. cinnamon
    1 tsp. ginger
    1 tsp. allspice
    1/2 tsp. nutmeg
    6 c. flour
    1 tsp. salt
    2 Tbsp. baking powder
    1/2 c. shortening
    1 1/2 c. cold water
    1/4 c. butter
    1 Tbsp. lemon juice
    3 Tbsp. chopped, cooked cherries
Preparation
    Remove rind from ham.
    Rub fat with cinnamon, ginger, allspice and nutmeg.
    Prepare the pastry.
    Sift flour, salt and baking powder.
    Blend in shortening.
    Add water to make dough.
    Roll out 1/4-inch thick.
    Place rolled dough around ham, joining at the bottom or side.
    Cover pastry with well-greased and floured paper. Bake in slow oven at 300\u00b0 for about 6 hours.
    At the end of the fourth hour, remove paper to brown the dough.
