Chicken And Dumplings - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 chicken
    3 c. self-rising flour
    4 tsp. shortening
    1 beaten egg
    1/2 c. milk
Preparation
    Boil chicken until it easily comes off the bone.
    Mix flour and shortening well; add beaten egg and milk.
    Roll onto floured surface, about 1/4-inch thick.
    Cut and drop into boiling chicken broth.
    Put chicken meat back into the dumplings and broth. Cover and cook until dumplings are tender, about 20 minutes.
