Joyce'S Gingerbread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 eggs
    1 c. sugar
    1 c. molasses
    1/2 c. lukewarm water
    3 tsp. soda
    2 1/2 c. flour
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. ginger
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1 c. melted shortening
    1 c. boiling water
Preparation
    Cream eggs and sugar until smooth.
    Add molasses and water, blending well after each.
    Sift all dry ingredients and add, blending well.
    Stir in melted shortening and boiling water.
    When all ingredients are mixed well, pour into a 9 x 13-inch pan.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 30 to 40 minutes.
    When cake is cool, sprinkle with powdered sugar or eat plain.
