Caramel Corn - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. butter
    1/4 c. corn syrup
    1 c. lightly packed brown sugar
    1/2 tsp. baking soda
    4 qt. plain popcorn, popped
Preparation
    Melt butter with corn syrup in a 2-quart saucepan over medium heat.
    Add brown sugar and stir to dissolve.
    Cook syrup to hard ball stage.
    To check, drop some syrup into cup of cold water and when it forms a firm ball it is done.
    Takes about 5 minutes. Remove from heat and add baking soda, stirring to blend.
    Pour over popcorn; stir to coat evenly.
