Chocolate Spice Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1/2 c. shortening
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs (unbeaten)
2 Tbsp. cocoa
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. allspice
1 1/2 c. applesauce
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
2 c. flour
1 c. raisins
1 c. nuts, chopped
1 c. dates, chopped

Preparation

Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
Prepare 10-inch tube baking pan.
Cream shortening and sugar.
Mix flour, soda, cocoa and spices.
Blend in eggs, dry ingredients and applesauce until well mixed.
Fold in raisins, nuts and dates.
Bake 35 to 45 minutes or until done.
