Tomato And Basil Rice - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 Tbsp. olive oil
    1 medium onion, minced
    1 c. whole tomatoes, mashed without liquid
    1 c. water
    3/4 tsp. salt
    1/8 tsp. pepper
    1/8 tsp. garlic powder
    1 tsp. fresh basil, chopped fine or 1/2 tsp. dried
    1 c. rice
    4 Tbsp. Parmesan cheese
Preparation
    Heat olive oil and saute onion until translucent.
    Add tomatoes and water.
    Bring to a boil and add salt, pepper, garlic powder and basil.
    Bring to a second boil and add rice and stir.
    Reduce to low heat and cover.
    Cook until liquid is absorbed, 15 to 20 minutes.
    Stir in Parmesan cheese before serving.
