Sausage Corn Bread Wheel - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. sausage links
    1 c. yellow corn meal
    2 c. sifted flour
    1/2 tsp. salt
    4 tsp. baking powder
    1 egg
    1 c. milk
    2 Tbsp. sausage drippings
Preparation
    Brown links in pan over low heat.
    Drain off drippings. Arrange in pinwheel on bottom of round pan.
    Sift together dry ingredients into medium sized bowl.
    Add egg, milk and drippings. Beat until smooth, about 1 minute.
    Do not overbeat.
    Pour over sausage links.
    Bake at 425\u00b0 for 25 minutes.
    Invert on platter. Garnish with parsley and apple slices if desired.
    Serve with sausage gravy.
