Orange Fruit Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. shortening
1 3/4 c. sugar
3 eggs, beaten
grated rind of 1 orange
1 c. pecans, chopped
3 c. plain flour, sifted
1 tsp. salt
1 1/2 tsp. soda
1 c. buttermilk
1 c. dates, rolled in flour
Preparation

Cream shortening and sugar.
Add 1 tablespoon orange rind. Add eggs, one at a time, flour, salt, soda, buttermilk, dates and pecans.
Bake in a greased and floured tube pan for 1 hour and 20 minutes in a 350\u00b0 oven.
