Ingredients

1/2 c. shortening
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. brown sugar
2 eggs
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
2 sq. melted unsweetened chocolate
2 3/4 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. nuts, chopped
Preparation

Mix shortening, sugar, brown sugar, eggs and vanilla.
Blend in melted unsweetened chocolate.
Sift together and stir in flour and salt.
Mix in chopped nuts.
Mix thoroughly with hands.
Press and mold into a long, smooth roll.
Wrap in waxed paper and chill until stiff.
With a thin, sharp knife, cut into thin slices. Place a little apart on an ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake at 400\u00b0 for 6 to 8 minutes.
