Soft Molasses Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. molasses
    1 c. white sugar
    1 c. melted shortening
    4 tsp. soda
    2/3 c. hot water
    2 eggs
    5 c. all-purpose flour
    1 1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
    1 1/2 tsp. ginger
    1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
    1 tsp. vanilla
    3/4 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Mix sugar and molasses.
    Add melted shortening and eggs; mix well.
    Add vanilla.
    Dissolve the soda in hot water.
    Sift flour, cream of tartar, spices and salt together, then mix all together. Let mixed dough stand in a cool place for 1 hour.
    Roll out to about 1/8-inch thick.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 on a well-greased cookie tin for 10 minutes, or until well done.
